OpenText Managed File Transfer 2013 Helps Organizations Improve Security and Compliance, Decrease Costs and Increase Business Process Velocity.
WATERLOO, ON - November 20, 2012 - OpenText (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), a leading provider of Enterprise Information Management (EIM) software, today announced the immediate availability of OpenText Managed File Transfer (MFT) 2013, which allows organizations to manage their file transfer processes, quickly, easily and securely.

"This new release of OpenText MFT is a significant milestone towards delivering the best Information Exchange solutions to our customers," said Eugene Cherny, General Manager, OpenText Connectivity Solutions. "The new multi-server architecture offers unprecedented cost-saving, data security and user experience benefits for organizations looking to regain control of their file movements."

The multi-server architecture allows customers to deploy a network of OpenText MFT servers across geographically dispersed locations in order to optimize the routing of files between users inside and outside the firewall. This architecture offers significant benefits to organizations that are struggling to take control of their file movements, including:

Reduced infrastructure costs by selecting the optimum time and most cost-effective network segment for routing files.

Improved security and governance for data-in-motion by segregating users and restricting file movements to specific servers or network routes.

Increased performance and better user experience by intelligently moving files closer to recipients prior to being downloaded.

OpenText MFT also includes advanced data-at-rest encryption capabilities that facilitate regulatory compliance by encrypting the files that reside on the MFT servers in order to prevent the theft of intellectual property and mitigate the risk of data breaches. Data protection is further enhanced through the OpenText MFT Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2 validated cryptographic module, which provides government-grade security.

Dispatch folder, new functionality in this release, allows users to automate and accelerate recurring file transfer operations. Using a dispatch folder, users can drag and drop files to a pre-configured desktop location which will automatically send those files to other users or file systems while maintaining the benefits of a fully-audited and secured file transfer.

Availability

New Managed File Transfer Solution Offers Advanced Audit Capabilities, Integration with Microsoft Outlook, Patent-pending Large-File Transfer Acceleration
Waterloo, ON - March 13, 2012 - OpenText (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC) today announced a new solution for managing the fast and secure exchange of large files inside and outside enterprises. Easy-to-use and deploy, OpenText Managed File Transfer (MFT) integrates with Microsoft Outlook, helps reduce file attachment size concerns and provides a powerful platform for the secure and auditable exchange of rich digital content including sensitive intellectual property among employees, partners and customers.

Organizations are increasingly looking to move beyond legacy file transfer technologies such as FTP to solutions that can handle the exchange of growing volumes of digital content, address increased challenges to protect information and help address regulatory compliance. At the same time, end-users demand that the solution be convenient and easy to use. OpenText MFT offers the ideal platform for these requirements. Key features include:

Ultra-fast content delivery based on patent-pending file acceleration technology

Intuitive user experience through Microsoft Outlook or a Web browser

Encryption of content-in-transit and authentication against the enterprise directory

End-to-end audit trail

File delivery with auto-resume, QoS support and network conditions adaptability

"We heard loud and clear from customers that their current solutions for exchanging digital content were limited in file size, not secure enough, too slow or too hard to use. We developed OpenText Managed File Transfer to fully address these challenges," said Eugene Cherny, General Manager for Connectivity at OpenText. "Our deep expertise in developing enterprise connectivity and content management solutions puts us in the position to offer a dramatically improved approach to enterprise file transfer."

In most organizations, the average file attachment size allowed within Microsoft Outlook is just 10 megabytes. This represents a major limitation when it comes to exchanging rich media content such as slide presentations, images, video files or engineering and architecture drawings that range from hundreds of megabytes to multiple gigabytes in size. In certain industries, such as film and broadcast production, the time it takes to transfers files between locations is a major concern.

To overcome the 10 MB restriction, employees often resort to risky or cumbersome file exchange methods such as FTP, physical media or cloud-based public storage sites. OpenText Managed File Transfer unburdens users from file size limitations while providing usability comparable to email attachments. With support for a wide range of industry standard encryption types and the included OpenText FIPS 140-2 certified cryptography module, OpenText Managed File Transfer helps ensure the safe and compliant exchange of intellectual property. On the receiving end, files are easily accessed from any browser or email system.

On March 5th 2012, OpenText announced the availability of OpenText Tempo, a secure hybrid cloud document sharing and mobile syncing solution. While OpenText Tempo lets organizations quickly set up a private solution for easily sharing and syncing of content in the cloud, OpenText Managed File Transfer is designed to help organizations overcome the security and performance limitations of traditional file transfer mechanisms, such as FTP servers and physical media.

Availability
OpenText Managed File Transfer is available globally now. To learn more, go to www.opentext.com/mft.

Enhanced, Native Connector Makes OpenText ECM Suite the Ideal Platform for Integration Projects

Waterloo, ON. - 2011-06-13 - OpenText (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), today announced the release of a new version of OpenText Integration Center featuring an enhanced, native connector to OpenText ECM Suite 2010. Customers can help better leverage their structured and unstructured content to reduce costs and improve efficiency. OpenText Integration Center unifies access to multiple sources of disparate information from OpenText ECM Suite for applications such as business systems integration, legacy decommissioning, in-place content management and content migration.

Most integration technologies focus on either structured data in databases or content in document repositories, but not both. Now with OpenText Integration Center, which inherently understands both structured data and unstructured content, customers can give business decision makers easy access to corporate information assets through ECM Suite 2010. This allows them to take advantage of powerful analytics, semantic search and rich interactive user interfaces to boost productivity and improve decision making.

"The current economic conditions are forcing organizations to reduce the number of information sources by bringing structured and unstructured content together under the roof of a single business process and repository," said Eugene Cherny, General Manager for OpenText's Connectivity Solutions. "By combining these worlds in the OpenText ECM Suite, we give customers a powerful solution that helps them reduce costs during a tough economy, while enabling them to do more with their information."

The latest release of OpenText Integration Center, together with OpenText ECM Suite 2010, provides enhanced, integrated ECM support making it easier to design, integrate, and implement content integration projects. Typical applications include:

Content Migration -- OpenText Integration Center offers complete migration features to move content from one or many repositories to any new destination with all its metadata and context. It helps to automate the movement of content while delivering content integrity and operational efficiency.

Legacy System Decommissioning -- Finally turning the off switch on old systems can lead to substantial cost reduction. Customers can archive data from any application and automatically apply lifecycle management rules, such as records management classifications, retention rules, and schedules through ECM Suite 2010.

Data Archiving -- With a global policy to integrate retention of structured and unstructured content into one archiving system, customers can be assured of speedy and accurate collection of historical information with a full audit history.

Systems Integration -- OpenText Integration Center represents a new generation of integration solutions that transforms, cleanses, enriches and directs information across the entire spectrum of decision support systems and corporate applications, for integrations that include data warehouses, data marts, mainframe systems, ERP systems, CRM systems, and content management platforms.

Less Seeking, More Finding
Leading industry analysts such as Susan Feldman, IDC's Research Vice President for Search and Discovery Technologies, have identified unified information platforms as a new and fast-growing segment in enterprise software. Facilities like OpenText Integration Center will support enterprise strategies to implement such platforms.

"Businesses of all sizes are wallowing in too much information, without being able to make sense of it. Our survey of IT buyers demonstrates that they are eager to fix the information quandary by investing in software that gives them a single access point to all their information silos. We expect this demand to fuel a new wave of growth in information access software," writes Feldman in a report published in April 2011 titled "Unified Access to Information: Less Seeking, More Finding."

OpenText Solutions Help Financial Services Organization Focus on Core Competencies
HSH Nordbank draws on decades of experience in the fields of shipping, transport, and energy, making it one of Germany's leading real-estate financiers. Approximately 3,900 employees work for HSH Nordbank, who are responsible for a business volume of EUR 176 billion. "By connecting users around the world to the trading systems, OpenText's Connectivity solutions do not just create potential cost savings but also the necessary flexibility for future structural changes," says Jan Timmler, application consultant for trading systems at HSH Norbank.

HSH Nordbank uses a wide range of different trading systems for various asset classes such as equities, derivatives, or currencies. These include Kondor+, Calypso, and Opus--, solutions that are widely used in the banking sector.

When the time came for Kondor+ from Thomson Reuters to be upgraded, the bank was told to upgrade their Exceed product as well. In adherence with the compliancy specifications of the bank's security department, OpenText Secure Shell was added to the suite of products.

"It is easy to add additional modules onto Exceed; this is a very cost-conscious approach on the part of OpenText, and it benefits the customer. With the OpenText Secure Shell, we were able to comply with the increased security requirements as part of the migration without any problems. Exceed is also the only Connectivity solution that is recommended and certified by Thomson Reuters for use in conjunction with Kondor+."

Jan Timmler, application consultant for trading systems at HSH Nordbank.

Click for the full story in ENGLISH or GERMAN

Latest version of OpenText SOCKS client offers Enterprise support, Windows 7 compatibility, native Blue Coat appliance authentication
OpenText has just released a new version of its OpenText SOCKS Client (free trial request) that supports native authentication to Blue Coat web proxy, making it the ideal solution for organizations looking to satisfy the needs previously fulfilled by the Permeo Premium Plus legacy client.

With over 15 years expertise in SOCKS technologies, the OpenText SOCKS Client is an ideal solution for Blue Coat customers that need a robust, commercially supported, enterprise-grade SOCKS client that makes it easier to allow their critical applications to traverse SOCKS proxies and firewalls:

Wide variety of authentication schema supported including Blue Coat Web Proxy Server, MS Active Directory or Kerberos

Ability to dynamically secure traffic from any TCP or UDP application without changing applications code

Support for Microsoft Windows operating systems including Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 and 64-bit platforms

Built-in load-balancing and fail-over mechanisms

Rules-based configuration engine

Support for MSI-based deployment systems

"We understand the need for organizations to use Enterprise-grade, commercially supported software that is fully compatible with Windows 7" says Eugene Cherny, General Manager of the OpenText Connectivity Solutions Group, "we look forward to working with Blue Coat customers and help them complement their infrastructure with our OpenText SOCKS Client."

Customers who are interested in the OpenText SOCKS Client can request a free trial online.

What is SOCKS?

Protecting confidential and mission critical application content has become a strategic priority for many organizations these days. Unfortunately, many homegrown or vendor applications have not been built to operate with network firewalls and proxies forcing administrators to leave gaping holes in their security infrastructures.

SOCKS is an industry standard security protocol that facilitates the routing of network traffic through firewalls and proxy servers. The OpenText SOCKS Client can dynamically "socks-enable" enterprise applications without requiring changes to their code. A rules-based engine allows administrators to decide which application traffic should be secured, instantly enabling it to traverse SOCKS proxies and firewalls.

Securing access from anywhere in the world to multiple applications across various Skyworks offices with Exceed onDemand
Waterloo, ON - February 22, 2011 - Skyworks Solutions Inc. implements OpenText's Exceed onDemand for reliable, high-speed and secure application access over any network connection.

Skyworks Solutions Inc. an innovator of high reliability analog and mixed signal semiconductors, has a workforce dispersed across multiple offices and employees who need to access the network from various locations. A common challenge for organizations in this scenario is finding a way to seamlessly connect employees so that geographic distances are essentially inconsequential.

Engineers rely on a number of applications for their work and require access to multiple platforms from which to get these applications. Skyworks' engineers use various Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools for their design work including Cadence Virtuoso.

To address these challenges, Skyworks implemented Exceed onDemand as the global workforce X11 window server solution. As veteran OpenText Exceed users, Skyworks quickly realized results upon the implementation of this next-generation solution.

Engineers at Skyworks now seamlessly access their applications from any office or location. For Skyworks as a whole, the deployment of Exceed onDemand has also allowed the company to effectively leverage its hardware resources.

"Our deployment of Exceed onDemand helped us solve many of the business challenges we faced given our diverse work locations. We're now easily connecting our employees to all of the major applications they need for their daily responsibilities, enhancing productivity while also reducing hardware costs. We're looking forward to continuing our successful relationship with OpenText," said Joe Gotto, EDA Manager at Skyworks

Click here for the full story.

OpenText's HostExplorer Enables Medical Center to Cost Effectively and Seamlessly Migrate Mainframe Access from SNA to IP

Waterloo, ON - 2009-07-15 - OpenText Corporation (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), a global leader in Enterprise Content Management (ECM), today announced that Saint Michael's Medical Center, a regional tertiary care, teaching, and research center in Newark, New Jersey, has successfully implemented OpenText's Connectivity solution, HostExplorer®, to replace its existing terminal emulator. A member of the OpenText Connectivity family of products, HostExplorer helps to provide organizations with an easy way of protecting their investment in legacy data, while letting them benefit from the latest in desktop and web-based technologies.

Saint Michael's Medical Center has a reputation for combining state-of-the-art technology, the latest diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, cutting-edge research, and a network of highly qualified physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals, as well as for providing top-quality health-care services delivered with compassionate care. As a result, there is a tremendous need to keep its people, systems, and data connected to ensure 24/7 information flow in a time-sensitive environment. With HostExplorer, Saint Michael s was able to successfully replace its existing terminal emulation solution with lower acquisition costs, due to a flexible maintenance contract, and a fast learning curve that eliminated the need to retrain the entire organization.

"One of the great things about HostExplorer is its configurability. Upon installation, our IT department had difficulty addressing the administration of our previous system because they had to manage the profile and settings for every computer," said Herminio Navia, Director Clinical Applications, Information Technology and Services at Saint Michael's Medical Center. "OpenText's HostExplorer offering is an out-of-the-box solution that functions with minimal configuration and is much easier to deploy."

"More than ever, organizations have to acquire and retain solutions that have versatility, longevity and a solid reputation. It is for this reason that more organizations are reviewing their terminal emulator choices, opting to migrate their mainframe connectivity from SNA networks to IP networks," said Eugene Cherny, General Manager of OpenText's Connectivity solutions. "With HostExplorer, Saint Michael's Medical Center now has a modern solution that runs seamlessly in the background, while staff members continue their day-to-day tasks without any disruption at their workstations. Business carries on as usual in a critical sector of the medical industry where saving lives is paramount."

A secure web-to-host and PC-to-host solution, HostExplorer facilitates access to business critical information stored on legacy systems, such as Mainframes and AS/400. It offers a low-risk deployment strategy and a seamless integration path to companies that are considering moving away from their current emulation solutions.

OpenText's leading connectivity solutions connect people, data and applications in mission-critical environments through a complete line of remote application access and data integration solutions. With 90 percent of Global 2000 companies relying on its award-winning solutions for over 20 years, OpenText understands the financial and operational challenges that most organizations face, whether it is multiple systems, disparate data sources or geographically dispersed teams.

For more information about OpenText's connectivity solutions, go to: connectivity.opentext.com

Click here for the full success story on Saint Michael's Medical Center.

Connectivity Solution Allows Organizations to Cost-Effectively Protect Enterprise Application Content Over Unsecure Networks

Waterloo, ON - 2009-04-15 - OpenText (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), a global leader in Enterprise Content Management (ECM), today announced the immediate availability of its latest Connectivity solution, OpenText SOCKS Client, an enterprise-grade SOCKS V4 and V5 client, that assists organizations to transparently and cost-effectively secure their enterprise content applications over TCIP/IP networks.

OpenText SOCKS Client is an ideal solution for organizations that need a robust, commercially supported, enterprise-grade SOCKS client that makes it easier to allow their critical applications to traverse SOCKS proxies and firewalls. The solution can also be used by third-party vendors searching for an OEM package to support the SOCKS protocol in their products and solutions.

OpenText SOCKS Client offers the following functionalities:

Dynamically secure network traffic without changing applications code

Supports Windows Vista and 64-bit platforms

Authentication through Microsoft Active Directory and Kerberos Encryption of network traffic using industry-standard GSSAPI

Supports SOCKS V4 And V5 connections over TCP and UDP

Built-in load-balancing and fail-over mechanisms

Rules-based configuration engine and support for MSI-based deployment systems

"With our improved SOCKS Client, OpenText is taking a leading role in providing content security solutions to our enterprise customers," said Eugene Cherny, General Manager of OpenText's Connectivity solutions. "We are confident that the new features in this release will help organizations improve their security infrastructure, while preserving their investments in their enterprise applications."

OpenText SOCKS Client is available immediately. For more information, please visit: www.opentext.com/socks

Tolly Group Finds Connectivity Secure Server Offers Best Total Cost of Ownership Compared to All Other Products Tested
Waterloo, ON - 2009-01-21 - OpenText Corporation (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), a global leader in Enterprise Content Management (ECM), today announced the results of a new study establishing the superior performance and scalability of Connectivity Secure Server.

With billions of dollars of annual losses attributed to security breaches, organizations are under increasing pressure from auditors and shareholders to step up their security efforts. Connectivity Secure Server is a high-performance server for Windows which offers SFTP file transfer and secure terminal sessions, as well as FIPS 140-2 validated encryption for securing network traffic.

OpenText commissioned The Tolly Group to compare Connectivity Secure Server against other secure shell server products. Key findings of the report include:

Delivers the highest performance and maximum scalability of the three secure shell server products tested

Costs up to 12X less to support 1,000 concurrent SFTP connections than rival products tested

Completes 1,000 SFTP file transfer sessions from four PC clients on a single server, while other servers tested failed to scale properly

Imposes less overhead on host server CPU than other products tested

Uses 9X less server CPU memory than other products tested to complete 36MB file transfer to client

"Not all secure shell server products are created equal," said Kevin Tolly, founder of The Tolly Group. "Our testing shows Connectivity Secure Server consistently outperformed rival product offerings tested delivering superior processing speed by completing single file transfer up to 24X faster than the other two competitors at a fraction of the total cost."

"Our product was designed for our customers who are not willing to compromise between security, performance and cost to fulfill their connectivity needs," said Eugene Cherny, General Manager for connectivity solutions at OpenText. "Connectivity Secure Server follows the tradition of technology excellence and customer commitment which we started with Exceed® 20 years ago."

Connectivity Solution Helps Organizations Comply with Regulatory Security Requirements
Chicago, IL - 2008-10-01 - OpenText™ (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), a global leader in enterprise content management (ECM), today introduced Connectivity Secure Server™, a high-performance scalable solution for secure network access from Hummingbird, the OpenText Connectivity Solutions Group. Based on the industry-standard Secure Shell protocol, Connectivity Secure Server offers faster file transfer of critical data on a small server footprint and meets key security requirements in regulations spanning multiple industries.

Industry standards and government regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley, Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) require organizations to constantly strengthen the protection of mission-critical information such as credit card records, patient data or customer information. With billions of dollars of annual losses attributed to security breaches, corporations are under increasing pressure from auditors and shareholders to eliminate non-secure legacy systems.

Connectivity Secure Server offers a complete replacement for Telnet and FTP servers, providing organizations with the same flexibility and convenience as these protocols, but in a much more secure environment. Strong authentication methods, FIPS 140-2 validated encryption and robust content integrity allow network administrators to provide secure remote access and secure file transfer, as well as network traffic encryption.

Built on a highly efficient architecture, Connectivity Secure Server supports a high number of simultaneous user sessions while minimizing memory and processor footprint, allowing organizations to eliminate unnecessary hardware and energy costs required by their previous solutions. Coupled with Connectivity SecureTerm®, the industry's first desktop- and Web-based Secure Shell client, Connectivity Secure Server offers a cost-effective and high-performance point to point security solution.

"With Connectivity Secure Server, OpenText strengthens its commitment to providing its Global 2000 customers with an innovative, enterprise-focused solution to help them achieve their compliance objectives," said Eugene Cherny, General Manager, the OpenText Connectivity Solutions Group. "We are extremely excited about the release of this new product and want organizations to realize they do not need to compromise between security, performance and costs to fulfill their security needs."

OpenText and Eduserv Sign Preferential Pricing Agreement for New Exceed Freedom™ Product from Hummingbird®, the OpenText Connectivity Solutions Group
Chicago, IL - 2008-05-21 - OpenText™ Corporation (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), a global leader in enterprise content management (ECM), announced today that it has signed a preferential pricing agreement with Eduserv, a not-for-profit, professional IT services group, to offer colleges, universities and research labs in the UK significantly reduced pricing for Exceed Freedom™, the latest product from Hummingbird®, the OpenText Connectivity Solutions Group. The agreement will enable these institutions to use advanced remote access software and services they would have otherwise been unable to afford.

Located in Bath, UK, Eduserv's mission is to realize the benefits of information and communications technology for learners and researchers, and the institutions that serve them. The organization's licence negotiation and management service, Chest, delivers preferential pricing for software and data licenses on behalf of UK universities, colleges and other institutions engaged in educational or research activities for over 20 years. Ninety-seven percent of UK universities and colleges benefit from at least one Chest agreement, enabling many to obtain software at affordable prices.

OpenText has had several products as part of the Chest program but its Hummingbird Connectivity portfolio has had the longest run: For 15 years, Connectivity products Exceed®, NFS Maestro™, HostExplorer® and Connectivity Secure Shell™ have connected students, researchers and academics to people, data and applications across the UK. This latest agreement expands the product offerings by including the newest product in the Connectivity product portfolio, Exceed Freedom. Colleges and universities that have been relying on Exceed to connect to UNIX hosts for scientific research and academic studies can now also acquire Exceed Freedom through Chest at reduced rates, thanks to Chest's shared service model.

"OpenText's Hummingbird team has been fantastic to work with," said Johanna Fyfe, Supplier Relationship Manager for Eduserv's Chest service. "We can rely on Hummingbird to look after the institutions that use their products. That is why Exceed was one of the first products added to the Chest program and it has been providing institutions great value for their money."

"Both Eduserv and OpenText have a thorough understanding of the needs of higher educational institutions, which we've gained through close cooperation with colleges and universities over the past 15 years. We are very happy with the relationship we have with Eduserv and look forward to working with them for years to come," said Eugene Cherny, General Manager of Hummingbird, the OpenText Connectivity Solutions Group. "Adding Exceed Freedom to the mix of products offered in the Chest program will give these institutions access to world-class software and services which is essential to furthering the education of future generations."

Advances Its Content and Data Integration Strategy
Chicago, IL - 2007-12-05 - OpenText™ (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), a global leader in enterprise content management (ECM), announced today the release of Genio® 7, OpenText's content and data integration solution used to transform, cleanse and direct unstructured and structured information across the entire spectrum of decision support systems and corporate applications, spanning projects that include data warehouses, data marts, mainframe systems, ERP systems, CRM systems, and content management deployments.

Genio offers a comprehensive solution for organizations to seamlessly integrate their content and data assets between multiple systems and processes. Leveraging the data integration capabilities of Genio, enterprises have gained measurable business benefits such as reduction in costs, increased reactivity to market changes as well as improved quality and usefulness of their business data.

New capabilities in Genio 7 include:

Out-of-the-box support for Web Services

Today's global, multi-faceted organizations are continuously faced with the challenge of integrating disparate systems with incompatible interfaces, data structures, and technologies. As agile organizations adopt a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) they realize that there's a significant issue that Web Services do not address: data-level compatibility.

Genio 7 fills this gap by extending its wide range of data integration and transformation functionality to include Web Services capability, thus allowing organizations to make a quantum leap in the benefits they reap out from their transition to SOA. With this new version of Genio, companies can seamlessly incorporate business data exposed via Web Services in their data integration processes. The Web Services support delivered by Genio 7 drastically reduces the level of effort required to integrate SOA-compliant business applications, saving companies the need to undertake costly integration projects. By extending the reach of their data integration processes to Web Services, organizations will improve data lineage and accountability, significantly enhancing the reliability and value of corporate information.

National Language and Unicode Support

In the increasingly global marketplace, companies expanding their reach are faced with the problem of managing international operations to align them with their newly established business processes. These projects offer significant challenges, particularly when attempting to integrate information in different languages.

By offering Full National Language and Unicode Support, Genio 7 removes the complexity of integrating data encoded in different character sets. This new functionality allows Genio customers to treat data equally regardless of its origin, accelerating business systems integration projects and facilitating the distribution and exploitation of data across the entire organization.

Improved Performance and Ease-of-Use

Now available as a native 64-bit application, Genio 7 further extends scalability and performance of the Genio line. In addition, the introduction of advanced wizards, enhanced search capabilities and new design facilities such as dynamic connection attributes will help organizations boost their speed and productivity when creating data integration projects.

"Getting through piles of data and information in an organization is no easy feat. As organizations evolve, they acquire new enterprise applications, operating systems, hardware platforms and databases, creating many islands of information across the enterprise," said Bill Forquer, Executive Vice President of Marketing at OpenText. "Genio 7 will enable easier integration and access to data and content across the globe, resulting in smarter and faster business decisions based on timely and accurate information."

Extends OpenText Content Services for Content and Data Integration

OpenText Content Services, announced at OpenText's recent user conference (http://www.opentext.com/news/pr.html?id=1960), provide foundational Web Services for Enterprise Library Services, Enterprise Process Services, and end user interface experience. With Genio 7, all OpenText customers can extend their ECM strategies to include Web Service based information sources across the enterprise. This announcement represents a significant step forward for organizations that need to develop a holistic information management strategy across structured and unstructured content and require a cost-effective pathway to content integration.

Company Ramps Up Strategy as Customer Demand for Content and Data Integration Solutions Grows; Solutions Bridge Structured and Unstructured Information from Key Enterprise Systems
Chicago, IL - 2007-11-12 - OpenText™ (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), a global leader in enterprise content management (ECM), said today that its Genio product line will play a significant role in a broader content and data integration strategy and suite of solutions. The focus on content and data integration are key as customers demand more powerful solutions to bridge islands of information and improve access for better decision making, so that customers can gain more value from information throughout the enterprise.

OpenText is committed to offering leading content and data integration solutions, with plans for a new version of Genio next month. But Genio will also figure prominently into OpenText's plans to strengthen content and data integration technologies into its broader ECM offering. OpenText has been expanding its portfolio of solutions to give customers more powerful ways to manage all business information across systems and departments in large organizations, most recently introducing OpenText Content Services as part if this strategy.

Genio represents a new generation of content and data integration solutions that transform, cleanse, enrich and direct unstructured and structured information across the entire spectrum of decision support systems and corporate applications, spanning projects that include data warehouses, data marts, mainframe systems, ERP systems, CRM systems, and content management deployments. Genio's ability to exchange information between ERP systems fits well with OpenText's leadership in delivering ECM solutions that manage documents from systems such as SAP through business processes.

"Genio is a crucial application in our information management system," said David Mathieu, CIO of André, a trade name of the Vivarte Group, a leading European clothing and footwear retailer. "We are very pleased with the direction the product is taking under OpenText's leadership and look forward to the evolution of the product to better leverage its capabilities to address our content and data integration challenges."

Genio delivers a rich set of benefits that offers organizations significant and tangible return on investments. Genio was built on the foundation of four key principles of openness, flexibility, ease of use, and reusability, and decouples business processes from the complexity of the IT systems infrastructure, allowing organizations to better execute their agile business practices.

"The volume of data in companies today is exploding and organizations are in constant change with the demands of global competition," said Bill Forquer, Executive Vice President of Marketing at OpenText. "Companies need more powerful data integration tools that can help them quickly turn raw data into useful information. For over 10 years, some of the world's largest organizations have been leveraging Genio in mission critical applications. As market needs evolve to address the requirements of a more holistic approach to content and data integration, Genio will be in a leadership position to satisfy the most pressing challenges within these organizations."

Genio will be featured at the ITEC show, December 5-6, 2007 at the COBB Galleria Center in Atlanta, Georgia, where OpenText's Genio representatives will discuss best business practices for content and data integration.
